We all come in an array of different shades and textures with unique features. Life consists of our own individual journeys of learning to love ourselves from the inside out. It’s unfortunate that most of us view ourselves from the outside in, becoming our biggest critics. What is the cause? Diluted visions of beauty that are filtered through media outlets such as magazines and television. Sometimes the very people we live with daily apply the pressure of maintaining a certain level of outer beauty. The world is always looking for the “perfect” image to follow and glorify. But, that image DOESN’T EXIST! If there ever was a phrase that reeked of truth it is, “You’re perception is your version of reality”. And, that is the simple solution. How you view yourself is your truth.

I remember wishing my lips were smaller as a young girl. I remember my mom showing my sister (whose lips are fuller than mine) how to hold her lips a certain way to make them appear thinner. Absurd right?! Not, at all because she was only passing on what my grandmother had taught her. Now women everywhere are paying for fuller lips! The very thing that we tried to hide is one of the most sought after cosmetic surgical procedures. Those generational pressures are still relevant today, and the cycle must be broken.

The beauty chronicles are designed to help us (as I am on the same journey as each of you) to learn to love ourselves from the inside out. Each day we will learn to accept the truth that there is no such thing as perfect beauty. I will provide practical tips and knowledge on how to take care of your skin. I will also provide make-up and beauty tips. I truly believe beauty is a combination of mind, body and spirit all working together. I hope my expertise will empower you and help with the revelation of your true beauty. As a make-up artist, I apply outer beauty daily by providing clients an awesome skin care regimen and with a few strokes of a makeup brush. However, the starting point to finding your true beauty is to love the skin that you’re in.
