Shop: Barbadoes Street House Art

Years ago when I studied Graphic Design in Christchurch I lived in this beautiful big 2 storied, 7 bedroom villa with a group of friends. It was one of the best years of my life. Filled with adventures, creativity and millions of fun memories with some of my absolute best best buddies. After the Christchurch earthquake, this house was not liveable anymore and is now boarded up.
I try to make a special trip to drive past it if I’m ever in Christchurch – taking a moment to remember all the fun times had.
The last time I drove past, I decided it was time to draw it. I snapped a quick pic on my iPhone and went home to sketch. This is the result.
Drawing this has made me realise just how much homes mean to us all. That the 4 walls are filled with everyone’s history & memories.
