Traveling can make it challenging to stick to a fitness schedule, but I always pack my workout gear to sneak in a workout and keep my body on track. I especially needed to stretch my legs and get my blood flowing after a 7-hour drive to Vermont! It was a quick trip, but I made it a point to get up early and get upside down! I soaked in my new surroundings and the crisp mountain air while practicing poses in the middle of the woods.

This past year, I’ve been doing a lot more yoga to help open my shoulders and hips, which are super tight from running. Now, I make it a point to take at least two or three Vinyasa classes a week, alternating with my outdoor runs. I can already see such a positive effect in both my mind and body—my core is getting stronger, I’m much more flexible and my mind is focused. I’m really trying to perfect some inversions and challenging poses, but everyday is a learning experience and I’m enjoying the journey every step of the way. I highly recommend mixing more stretching and strengthening moves into your cardio routine.
Practice, practice, practice!

Stay Strong.

XOXO,
NYC
