Happier

Everyone starts a new year thinking about goals and resolutions. This book we read prompted a question I enjoyed pondering - not the common "what would make me happier" but the introspective and interesting question of what is in my life that already makes me happy.

These are things I've noticed just today that makes me happy:

The way my GPS greets me ("let's get started" -- I'm not alone in navigating -- followed by "please drive safely" -- thanks for caring!)
The smell of bergamot, which always makes me think of picking citrus in December on the Capitoline hill in Rome with the lovely husband; and makes Lady Gray my always-first tea choice.

The color of fog.

The way everything just fits in our narrow linen closet.

Something about each family member: the lovely husband's gentle voice, E's passionate attention to her hobbies, L's deep curiosity, G's unique phrasing.

The feeling of relaxation walking in our home.

Solitude with time to have a daydream.

What makes you happy?
