Summer Trends on KTLA Morning News

My life is kind of awesome and I have really awesome friends. You already know how much I love fashion, beauty, and playing dress-up. So who cool is it that I got the chance to do all of that Monday morning on live television. Here's the scoop. My girl Taye Hansberry was invited to talk the hottest trends of the season on KTLA Morning News. Since she's such a sweetheart, she invited myself and a few other fashion bloggers to show the City of Angels how we do it.

The first thing on the agenda Monday was definitely coffee. I had to wake up at 6 am for this, and that sure ain't easy. After getting that out of the way and arriving to the studio, we had to get ready for the teasers. If you don't know, those are the quick 15 second previews of what's coming up in the show. Because I didn't need to get my hair done, Taye designated that I'd be first up to bat for this. Here's me, Rachel, and Joann in our teaser outfits. We totally look like ladies who lunch.

Looking pretty that early in the morning is a challenge. I'm normally not one to pile on the makeup, but good gracious I needed tons of concealer and eye cream for my puffy eyes. Because the lights tend to wash everyone out, it's key that you add lots of color so you look awake on camera. Taye's the queen of blush, so there she is chiseling those cheekbones. I swear she needs to do her own makeup tutorials called How to Get the Taye Face.

Ok so we're almost ready to go on air. Decked out in our cute clothes styled by Taye and armed with sweets from Carmela Ice Cream, It's showtime! Be careful not to drip the ice cream all over my white outfit. Trust me, I was nervous I would do exactly that. Can you imagine the disaster on live tv?!

I mean, how great is this! I was first on deck to start the show. Rocking head-to-toe white never looked so good on me. Maybe it's all the studio lights. Can't believe I actually ate that ice cream sandwich on camera. Gasp! But really... you've got to check out the entire segment. Taye is such a genius and we all look freaking fantabulous!
