My Style: Double Scoop

Although I'm more of a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, sometimes I like to get fancy. Maybe not debutante fancy, but a slightly Southern socialite fancy. Think ladies who lunch and brunch or get together for tea. Now, I know it's rather warm outside and way too hot to be all covered up. You want light-airy fabrics and cute dresses that allow your body to breathe. Summer sundresses are all fine and dandy, but you probably want a few more options. That's why I've got two adorable looks styled by myself and friend Taye of Stuff She Likes for your weekend outings.

Look 1: Mid-Century Fab
The Look:
Dress: Lulu's
Shoes: Call It Spring
Earrings: Target
Bag: Shoe Dazzle
These details are so "on trend". White accessories are like icing on the cake for summer style. You can pair ivory with almost any outfit to make it look crisp and clean. And why go with your usual one-dimensional floral print when you can have daisies actually stitched on to your bag. The gold chain strap and tiny gold studs within the flowers really make this blossom.

I'm totally a sucker for retro styles. I used to go digging through my grandmother's closet for double-knit dresses just like this. Here's why this is perfect for right now... it's like a crop top and high-waisted skirt all in one. The dress hugs your curves in all the right places and features side cutouts and a retro A-line. You've got to adore this blue and white print. Throw in the daisy bag with gold details and pointy-stacked white heels and you're ready for Sunday brunch.

Look 2: Country Lace

The Look:
Top: Love Stitch from Lulu's
Overalls: Lucca Couture from Lulu's
Shoes: Call It Spring
Clutch: Shoe Dazzle
Earrings: Target
Cocktail Ring: Thrift Store (similar)
White on white is such a bold statement for the season. If you do it right, you will look impeccable. Don't get hung up on trying to match your whites perfectly. It's okay to mix an ivory with a brighter white. Here's why this is fantastic for right now... lace and crotchet are so in! Both are elegant, breezy, and just so darn pretty. What better way to spruce up your typical overalls than with lace. If this were denim, it wouldn't be so chic and versatile. You can wear with heels and a patterned clutch for a party or dress down with Keds for a bike ride.

Both looks were recently featured on KTLA as part of the hottest summer trends presented by Taye Hansberry. She did such a great job! Individually, all of these pieces are great on their own. They have intricate details that definitely catch your eye. But when you actually take time to style them, just look at how fabulous they look together.
