Pritikin Longevity Center’s 35th Anniversary Blogger Contest

An old blog photo of me before I began my expansion. Weight, that is!

I was recently invited to take part in the Pritikin Longevity Center and Spa’s 35th Anniversary Blogger Contest. The Pritikin Longevity Center is recognized as one of the nation’s premier health and wellness centers, offering life-changing results in a luxury setting. One blogger will be selected to attend Pritikin’s official 35th Anniversary celebration in Miami in May and I really hope that blogger is me. I could really use some strong advice on the lifestyle changes that are required to help me get off of this crestor.

Crestor is one of the many statin medications that people like myself take to help control cholesterol. I’ve been taking them for about a year now and if you are surprised at the fact that I have high cholesterol, frankly I am too. Apparently mine is the kind where diet, and taking the stairs just can’t control and with my continuously expanding backside, the levels went from borderline high to really high last year. After 6 months of taking a low dosage of crestor, however, my levels dropped to “perfect”.

So if I am doing so well, why do I want to be off of crestor you are asking? Because on the Himalaya mountain high list of side effects is this thing called muscle cramps. I experienced it several times when I started taking crestor. The best way to describe the pain — it’s as if the muscles in my lower legs were separating from the bone. That pain was severe enough for me to know that although my doctor prescribed it to me because he concluded that the benefit to me was greater than the risk of the side effects’ I just know that this is something that I really don’t want to take long term. I really want to be off of these things by the latest, 2015.

XoXo, Natasha

Disclosure: This post is my official entry in the Pritikin Longevity Center’s 35th Anniversary blogger contest.
