Five Autumn Makeup Trends That Leave You Glowing

The start of autumn provides a great chance to revamp your wardrobe and style. If you’re ready to switch up your makeup routine this season, try swapping out your usual products to try out the following trendy looks!

1. Metallic Hues

Eyes, lips, and cheeks all sparkled on the runways with the use of metallic-tinted makeup. Sleek silver and glamorous gold can bring a number of looks to life, whether you prefer a subtle shimmer to your eye shadow or prefer a full-on rock and roll look. Choose a matching lip and eye makeup duo with a silver tint, or opt for flecks of gold placed in the inner corners of the eyes to widen and brighten them.

2. Natural skin coverage

A fresh, dewy complexion is perhaps the biggest trend this season, with many runway models looking as if they’d just cleaned their faces before walking. Yet at the same time they were sporting light, flawless coverage. Tweak your skincare formula to prepare for the colder weather this season, using smoothing serums and all-purpose moisturizers. With a blend of sheer foundation and concealer that perfectly matches your skin tone; you’ll look both natural and flawless. You can still contour away to look like you’ve just had a rhinoplasty Sydney with Dr. Jeremy Hunt, but the key is to ease up on bronzer and blush to go au naturel.

3. Berry-stained lips

There’s a lot to be said for the natural look, but another hot trend this fall is to pucker up with a berry-inspired pout. Bright, cheerful shades ranging from raspberry to blackberry manage to be both natural and flattering on most skin tones, so don’t be afraid to slick on a juicy layer before stepping out. For a daytime look, choose a sheer lip stain loaded up with moisturizers and sun protection, to keep your lips looking and feeling supple as the temperature drops.

4. Geometric patterns

Fitting in with this season’s mod 1960s theme, geometric patterns can be a fun use of makeup. Rather than smudging and blending, use eyeliner to create sharp definition around the eye, and complement this with eye shadow to create the shape of your choosing.

5. Big, bold lashes

You’ve probably worn false eyelashes for a special occasion or big night out before, but the spidery look is in this fall even for a daytime stroll. You can either choose high-volume mascara or fill in your natural lash line with a set of falsies. For a slightly more natural but no less dramatic look, choose individual false eyelashes that you can glue in between your natural set. This way, no one will be able to tell where your natural eyelashes end.

This fall’s makeup looks offer a wide range of diversity to play around with. Whether you prefer a barefaced look or love to play with color and shapes, you’ll find no shortage of new products to enjoy.
