Mama’s Day Out {Mirbeau Inn Plymouth}

Last week, I had the opportunity to visit the new Mirbeau Inn & Spa at The Pinehills in Plymouth, Massachusetts. (The Inn has another location in Skaneateles, New York.) The Inn opened at the beginning of July, so it’s brand new and absolutely gorgeous!

When I arrived, I immediately scoped out the grounds to see what the place was all about. According to the website, Mirbeau Inn & Spa at The Pinehills was designed to “evoke the warmth, elegance and comfort of a private estate in the countryside near Paris,” and it definitely reflected that. I felt like I was in Europe!

The resort is made up of three main buildings (Manor House, Guest House, Family Chapel – now repurposed as the Henri-Marie restaurant), which are surrounded by beautiful gardens and a pond, which were inspired by Claude Monet’s own gardens in France.

After wandering the grounds, I visited Spa Mirbeau, where I checked in for my appointment (the Inn kindly offered me a complimentary treatment) and then used the gym for a quick workout. The spa offers a variety of fitness classes, including yoga, Pilates, and spinning on a daily basis, so you can pop in for a class or workout before or after your spa appointment.

The gym had a nice mix of equipment, including a rowers, so I did “Jerry,” a CrossFit hero workout, which is run 1 mile, row 2000 meters, 1 run mile—it was perfect as a quickie gym workout!

After my workout, I showered up and then headed to lunch at The Bistro & Wine Bar, which was located just upstairs from the spa. I loved how everything was located right at my fingertips!

Champagne with lunch? Don’t mind if I do!

The menu at The Bistro & Wine Bar was incredible. Everything sounded so delicious and every option had lots of healthy ingredients and interesting flavors—it seriously took me a solid 10 minutes to decide what I wanted to order. In the end, I went with a salad and a sandwich, both of which were big portions, so I tried to pace myself, but, unfortunately, I ate too much and didn’t have room for dessert. It was all so good! Haha! Oh well. Next time!

The salad: Warm Mushroom & Asparagus, which was served with a crispy hard-boiled egg, white truffle vinaigrette, and frissee. The mushrooms were so flavorful and meaty.

The sandwich: Lobster BLT, which was served with avocado, smoked gouda, lemon tarragon aioli, and chickpea fries on the side. Holy yum!

I especially loved the huge chunks of lobster and the buttery, grilled bread. Mmm!

And the chickpea fries were really good too! They definitely didn’t taste like regular French fries, but they were really tasty, kind of like fried chickpeas!

And if my day couldn’t get any better, I finished off my visit with a deep tissue massage at the spa and, boy, was it amazing. It was easily one of the best I have ever had, and I’ve gotten a lot of massages over the years! My massage therapist, Jennifer, was sooo strong. Holy moly! She worked out so much tightness in my back and upper body. It was incredible.

I really loved my time at Mirbeau Inn & Spa, and it was such an awesome experience, I am already planning another trip– this time with a friend! I can’t wait!
