Camille Charriere

Hard-working girl seeking Prince Charming...

Dior Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 2014 via Style.com
Goodness gracious me, I suddenly realise I have been going about life in entirely the wrong way. All this time wasted, getting a degree, focusing on my career, traveling the world to attend fashion shows, turning cyber-friendships into flesh'n'bone relationships...when really I should have spent all this time trying to land a Royal.
It's fairly obvious when I see the turn that couture has taken of late. All these Masters of Classicism, The Chanels (did you see the sandals?), the Vallis (hello piped pajama pants!), etc.. now all seek to speak to the modern woman, while catering to a lifestyle filled with snazzy formal happenings and other dress-code centric invites.
Take the King of Deceptively Simple Minimalism, Monsieur Raf Simons, at Dior, for instance. The Maison's archival bar-jacket was reworked into super-cinched boiler-suits and tulip-shaped ball gowns that have nothing of the straight-laced attitude of the formalwear of yarn. And by yarn, I mean a few years back. Here are exquisite crafty clothes fit for a free-spirited princess who, I'm sure, would be happy to team with sports shoes and undone hair. Someone like me then, only with slightly more important ancestors.
As I said, I have done it all wrong.
There is a silver lining though.
Harry is single again.
