Bangs / Scarves / Laughs
What I'm wearing: Nasty Gal scarf (here's an identical version for only $13!), JCrew sweatshirt, Paige Denim jeans, Rebecca Minkoff 'Amorous' Satchel, Shoemint flats (similar version)
Bangs and scarves. What do they have in common? Nothing, except that they've both been a hot topic of conversion from the moment I got them, and had me wiping away tears (of laughter- as you can see above) in the process.
The scarf in discussion is from Nasty Gal; one of my favorite shopping sites. As a side note: I have all of my deliveries made to my place of employment. It seems that anything delivered to my apartment building seems to disappear. But I digress. So when a package clearly marked "NASTY GAL" arrived, I had the entire office staff in an uproar. Who knows what they thought was in that package. Actually, I do know that they thought was in the package, and it most certainly wasn't this gigantic tartan scarf. Then due to the outrageous size of the aforementioned scarf, especially around my neck, when I decided to wear it, word quickly spread that I must be "hiding" something under it. Why else would I wear something so absurdly large? Again, couldn't be further from the truth. Who knew a tartan blanket scarf could be so scandalous?
Shortly there after I decided on a fun, wispy bang for fall. Working at a school, I'm used to colorful commentary from children on just about everything. Here are some of my favorite quotes about my new bangs: "Did you steam the front of your hair?" "Is that haircut part of your Halloween costume?" "What happened to your hair?" "I thought of your hair last night while I was watching Secretariat"(which is a movie about a horse).
Sometimes you just have to laugh (to keep from crying).
