DIY: Back to School Pencil Pouch and a Giveaway

We cannot stop the winter or the summer from coming. We cannot stop the spring or the fall or make them other than they are. They are gifts from the universe that we cannot refuse. But we can choose what we will contribute to life when each arrives.
-Gary Zukav-

It’s just about that time to trade in those tote bags filled with swimsuits, towels and sunscreen for backpacks full of folders, books and new pencils. So this fall, let’s take Gary’s advice. Instead of being wistful and sad to see summer coming to an end, let’s celebrate by making some cute pencil pouches for those students and artists in our lives.

I LOVE how the end of this looks!

This is a great scrap busting project since you only need a 10″ x 7″ piece of fabric. I used a discontinued upholstery sample that’s been in my stash for a while and a long reclaimed zipper.

First cut a piece of 10″ x 7″ piece of fabric. If your fabric isn’t very heavy, you can iron a piece of fusible interfacing to the back to make it more durable.

Then click here for the rest of the instructions and your chance to win this cute pencil pouch. As usual, just pin the tutorial to one of your Pinterest boards and leave a comment so your name will be entered into the drawing. The winner will be announced on Saturday, August 30th.

The winner of this doily shirt is……

Kelli Davidson!

Congratulations, Kelli send your mailing address to me at [email protected] and I’ll send it out to you ASAP.
