My Current Bodycare Routine

I’ve never really stuck to a particular routine except for applying body lotions once in a while, but when I’m pregnant, I’m a little more fussy. My belly stretches a lot more during the third trimester, and for the last 2 pregnancies, I developed a rash from the sudden skin changes. So for my 3rd pregnancy, I’m prepared, hoping for the best. Mainly, my focus is on my belly, hips and thighs, and I want to keep them well hydrated. I’ve been neglecting my feet for like, forever, so what the heck, I bought the foot cream as well. The hand cream is a repurchase, as you can read my previous review here. So I guess I must really like this hand cream. I’ve never repurchased any before

Clarins Foot Beauty Treatment Cream (RM103), Hand and Nail Treatment Cream (RM95)

I stand by my previous review on the hand cream, so I have nothing to add, except that the price has gone up. The foot cream is very rich. It doesn’t absorb into the skin quickly and it’s best applied before you sleep, unless you like that feeling like you’re walking on butter. My husband massages my feet every night with this cream, and after about 2 weeks of using it, my feet actually LOOK and FEEL smooth. Before this, my heels just looked disgustingly dry and … let’s not go there. My feet ain’t pretty. I guess I just have to eat my words and surrender – creams DO HELP and my feet look 20 years younger now. I can only enjoy this special treatment while I’m pregnant, because I’ll be massaging my own feet when the bubs is out. My excuse now is that my belly is in the way and it’s really very uncomfortable applying cream to my own feet. Truth!

Clarins Stretch Mark Control (RM200), Clarins Satin Smooth Body Lotion (RM145)

I use the Stretch Mark Control in the evening after shower. It is a heavier cream and I prefer not to sweat after applying this. In the morning, I apply my L’Occitane Almond Supple Skin Oil to my belly, hips and thighs to keep my skin moisturized. I don’t know if this Stretch Mark Control will work, so I guess we’ll see how it goes after the pregnancy. Then again, we should all know by now that WE CANNOT RUN AWAY FROM STRETCH MARKS! Don’t let the cream’s description fool you. All I can tell you is that it keeps my skin well moisturized throughout the night and there is no oily residue in the morning, and it keeps me comfortable which is the most important.

Can’t say the same for the body lotion. I think the body lotion might be suitable for those with very dry skin, or those who live in cold dry weather. On me, again, I apply it after my shower in the evening, preferably before bed. I apply it on my arms and legs and everywhere else I can reach. Sometimes I’d apply this on my belly before the Stretch Mark Control – when my skin feels especially dry, or itchy. It helps sooth my skin. But like I said, when I shower in the morning, I can still feel the residue of the body lotion, and I don’t apply very much of it either. Some people like it, I’ve grown accustomed to it but I prefer my lotions weightless Guess who won’t be repurchasing this one?

Have you used any of these before? Do you have a particular routine for your body? I know I’ll go back to square one after the pregnancy, applying lotions when I remember, not as diligently as I am now Are you better than I am, or just as bad? LOL!
