Review: Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex II

Tired looking eyes and dark circles make us all look lethargic, and sometimes even sickly. Luckily, we have concealers and correctors to cover those pesky dark circles, eye liner and mascara to make our eyes look wider Then again, they are only temporary measures. What I’d like is something to minimise the dark circles and fine lines around my eyes. That is the main reason I’ve always been consistent with my eye care since I was 25. Aging is something we can never escape, and creams, potions and what nots only delay the natural process.

I am not new to Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex. I discovered it a few years back, and it worked wonders for me! I have repurchased, I have strayed to try other eye creams, and now I am back with their newly reformulated version. Let’s call it the ANREye II. So what is the difference? First of all, I am a few years older, and I have developed some fine lines around my eyes. I don’t have wrinkles just yet (fingers crossed it’ll be a few years yet) but I find that in the last 2 years, my eyes feel drier. Definitely a sign of aging. This eye gel is not creamy in texture. Some might say it feels like silicones, but for me, it is not as slippery as some products I have tried. I use the spatula included to scoop out a pea sized gel, dab some under both my eyes, and using my ring fingers, gently pat the product in. That’s how I like to apply my eye care products. This gel absorb very easily and it is not greasy at all.

After about 2 months of using this, my eyes are definitely more hydrated. The skin around the area doesn’t feel as tight or itchy. The last stages of pregnancy caused me sleepless nights, and now that I’m breastfeeding every 2 hours, I’m not getting any sleep either. Considering all these things, I should be getting eyes even pandas think are awesome. I remember when Ashlyn was a baby, the dark circles were so bad, it looked like I used dark purple eye shadow on my eye bags which dropped to below my cheeks. This time round, my eyes are not as bruised, and I actually don’t look as haggard. I’ll spare you the bare face, because it is the internet after all, and I need to keep some dignity. LOL! The ANREye II is awesome on its own, and even more awesome when paired with the serum that I reviewed before. When paired together, I feel like the effects are stronger. My eyes are more comfortable. But of course, the best remedy for me is sleep so I try to catch on a wink or two whenever I can.

I was sent the ANREye II for consideration purpose, but I know I need another one, so I bought another as backup. I also know I’ll stray to try other eye creams (hey, it’s a blogger’s disease) but if anyone were to ask me, I’d recommend the ANREye II. I’m so lack of sleep that I can’t remember how much I bought it for. If I’m not mistaken, the eye gel is priced at around RM200 or RM220 for 15ml and is available at all Estee Lauder counters nationwide.

Have you tried this? I know some of you are very minimal with skincare, and many of you don’t apply eye creams diligently. It might be a personal thing, but for me, applying eye creams or eye gels religiously, every morning and evening, has helped me delay lines. I am a firm believer and nothing will sway me. Now… if only the baby can feed himself so I can have some uninterrupted sleep….zzzzzzzz…….

xoxo Lily
