Lately: A Not-So-Weekly Journal

Can we talk about balance? I think it’s probably obvious that my life has been out of balance because I haven’t blogged about my actual life in weeks! In a few months, my life is going to change a lot. I started this blog with a cross-country road trip, and at the end of August, I’m going to be making another huge road trip as I move back to the east coast for graduate school. I am very, very happy to have been accepted into the program of my choice, but it’s been a tough few weeks figuring out the logistics of finding an apartment, moving, and leaving life here in California. It’s been pretty consuming! After several tense weeks, I feel like Marcus and I have worked out enough of the details to relax a little. It’s been with his support that I’ve been able to remain sane during this time! I’m lucky to have him, that’s for sure. We’re working on a “bucket list” for the rest of our time here in LA, for the time being. And we’re regaining our balance. Here are some of the not so stressful things I’ve been up to lately. I know how obnoxious it is to Instagram every meal but sometimes I just can’t help myself. Instagram really helps me to find the beauty in milk slowly blending with iced coffee and pigs in blankets lined up in perfect rows! Blogging, networking, meeting, learning. I’ve been taking an online blogging e-course and have been learning tons and meeting lots of great new ladies! M & I have been taking advantage of blue skies by logging lots of hours at the beach with friends. Living two blocks from the beach is definitely something I will miss next year! After being so stressed, it feels nice to do some girly things for myself. Sometimes it just feels nice to get a manicure with girlfriends or put on a wacky mud masque! I also dyed (some of) my hair pink (it’s mostly gone now) and got my ears pierced! My ears closed up when I was 12 – I can’t believe I waited so long to get them repierced because I love them! On another note, next week is my two year blogiversary, and I will celebrating you! Stay tuned later this week for info on Reader Appreciate week! Do you struggle to keep your life in balance? How do you keep yourself in check?
