This summer I ran into Goodwill hoping to find a little treasure. I spotted what appeared to be the two sides to a vanity. I immediately thought–nightstands! For $9.99 you cannot go wrong with solid wood.
This is the only before picture I have. I snapped it in Goodwill to send to the hubs for his opinion. They cleaned up nicely! A good scrub, a rub down with some tinted furniture polish and some fresh hardware and we were in business.
I found the lamp shades on clearance at Target. Originally I thought the living room, but they just didn’t feel right so I moved them to the bedroom. I think I like them there.
The matching nightstands, which fit perfectly, along with the shades are helping to finish of the space nicely.
I even lined the inside of the drawers to feel nice and pretty. They were too stuffed to show you though. I barely got these pictures taken before the kids took over.
I could only hold them off for so long. Capturing them is more important then thrifted nightstands anyways.
After lounging at home all week, he is fever free for over 24 hours and on antibiotics for 24 hours. The croup/strep combo did a number.
I never can pass up a sturdy, solid wood piece for a good price. I knew painting them was an option, but they cleaned up so nicely–I didn’t need to. They aren’t perfect. If I was looking for perfect, I wouldn’t be thrifting. I think it adds character to a space. Any good thrifty finds lately?
