NARS Vanessa, Carmen Audacious Lipstick Swatches + Review
As you may have already seen, NARS has a brand new lipstick formula, and it’s hit top marks with many, including myself. In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of NARS a 40 shade, pigment rich, full-coverage lot of Audacious Lipsticks have released! I have two to share with you today in Vanessa (mauve nude) and Carmen (geranium).
The packaging is square, but more chic in that the edges are sharper and the tubes are magnetic and matte with a dull shine. Definitely not what we’re used to seeing when it comes to NARS lipsticks! The metal is cool to the touch and I love the subtle way NARS scripted the brand name in a shinier black than the tube.
The formula is thick without being goopy, creamy without being too matte or too shiny. It’s just that perfect formula that it’s right dead center amongst all of your favorite things. One swipe gives you completely opaque color that feels nourishing and light.
Wear time was a bit longer than that of a normal NARS lipstick. I got about 5 hours if I didn’t eat or drink. Carmen does leave a slight stain behind, which I love.
I leave you with this. Obviously I can’t say enough good things about the formula on this lipstick. I can’t wait to go play in store and buy many, many more. So, what does that tell you? Yes. My wishlist is LONG. What Audacious Lipstick shades are on your wishlist?
NARS Audacious Lipstick retails for $32.00 and is available as of August 15, 2014 at NARS Boutiques, narscosmetics.com and Barneys New York. Retailer exclusive shades will also launch August 15, 2014 at Barneys New York. Look for these on September 1, 2014 at Sephora and all other specialty/department stores.
