If you were only going to buy one fashion investment piece in your lifetime, the argument for it being a little black jacket by Chanel is a pretty solid one. Chanel is synonymous with ‘timeless’ and ‘classic’; you will have it, and wear it forever. To showcase just how much this is true, Karl Lagerfeld (Chanel’s head designer) and Carine Roitfeld (former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris) teamed up to create the ultimate retrospective of the iconic little black Chanel jacket. The book, which was photographed by Lagerfeld himself and styled by Roitfeld, will be out in August and features some of the fashion world’s biggest movers and shakers donning the LBJ, and showcasing its versatility. Here are some of my favorite shots, as well as a two short videos: The making of the the book, and the making of the jacket itself.
