Ginger, Strawberry + Lemon Flavored Water

This post is part of the SPLENDA® 365 SWEET SWAPS ™ blogger program by McNeil Nutritionals, LLC. and The Motherhood, who sent me products and compensated me for my time. Opinions, experiences and photos shared here are my own, and I hope you enjoy them.
One of my favorite ways to encourage myself to drink more water is to make a big huge pitcher of flavored water with fruits. It's always so fun to try different recipes and add different fruits, but I think I've finally found one that I really, really love. I've also found that adding Splenda to my fruit-infused water helps to keep the calories down, but still helps to sweeten it up a bit. I like sour, but sometimes the lemon flavor can get a little overpowering if it's not sweetened down a bit! I love the little bit of tart and the sweet that satisfy both my thirst and my insatiable sweet tooth. It makes getting those 8 glasses of water a day in a little less of a chore and so much more delicious!

Ingredients:

1. 2 cups of cut up strawberries
2. 2 lemons
3. 2 cubes of frozen ginger (feel free to use fresh, of course)
4. 1/2 cup of Splenda - granulated
5. Water
6. Ice cubes

Recipe:

Cut up strawberries and slice lemon and add to a pitcher of water and ice cubes. Melt down the frozen ginger or add fresh ginger if you prefer. Squeeze the ends of the lemon that you slice into the pitcher of water and add in your 1/2 cup of granulated Splenda. Stir until thoroughly dissolved. Best if served immediately or leave your pitcher in the fridge for fresh infused water all day long!

Here's to getting your 8 (or more) glasses of water in per day! I hope this recipe helps and helps you keep those pesky calories at bay. No one likes to add pointless calories from beverages to their tally at the end of the day, right? I know I sure don't!

What's your favorite way to flavor your water?
