New York City, part 1

New York, New York. The empire state of mind! A city that I fell in love with. I never thought I could like NYC so much. I thought it was overrated, because everyone was booking a vacation to NYC and talking like "Omg, how cool it is!" I mean, some places are just in, and people go there because everyone else is going. NYC is probably always in. Anyway, this was my first glimpse of United States, and it couldn't have been better! I was staying in Queens by a lovely host, so I got to see much more than just Manhattan. I think my host was also one of the reasons that made my New York experience so great. She showed me parts of Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn. It's so much easier to have someone who knows the most most interesting places in town, than just walk around by yourself all the time. Don't get me wrong, I usually travel by myself and I love it, but it's also one of the best things in traveling to meet people. And for example, I'm not so big fan of going to restaurants alone. But shopping is something I like to do just by myself.
Here comes the first set of my NYC photos. There was so much to see that I just went to those places that were like "must see" for me. A week was a good start for exploring NYC, but it's of course not enough for that kind of big city. But, as I always say: "You have to leave something for next time! (So that you have a good reason to come back soon ;)

Times Square. An impressive area with all those lights..but full of tourits of course! This is something you have to see when in NYC, but maybe this is not the place to spend most of your time.

Public Library on the right.

Broadway. I surprisingly had a chance to go to see a Broadway musical too, as I got a ticket to Jersey Boys. So we went there with my host and her friends, and it was incredible. The feeling I got when I was sitting there in the heart of New York, watching a real Broadway musical.

Empire State Building on the back

Statue of Liberty. I took the free ferry to Staten Island to see the statue, but if you wanna get a closer look you have to take another ferry and pay for it. For me that was enough, and also that Manhattan skyline was amazing.

Grand Central station. Very beautiful building.
