Goodbye Valentino

M o B D i s t r e s s !

Dear Readers,

I need your help.

As much fun as dressing for weddings is for me, making my dress for my daughter’s upcoming August wedding has sent me in to panic mode.

I have heard “You are not making your Mother of the Bride dress are you?” so many times I’ve become paranoid about choosing the wrong pattern and fabric. The pressure is on.

On March 30, twenty-five days from now I fly to Baltimore to spend a week with Susan Khalje. Lucky me, indeed

This is my chance to make a beautiful couture dress, and a dress many of the wedding guests will know I made…….

Help me, please.

My daughter’s dress is white and the wedding is formal. My dress will be long.

I’m open to all suggestions – current patterns, vintage patterns, and all fabrics except sequins or bling. I’ll splurge on the price of the fabric (and will also consider my lovely Thai silk).

Here I am.

I’ll be ten pounds thinner with perfect biceps by August.

I need to arrive in Baltimore with a completed muslin and my fabric.

As much as I’d like to offer the readers who can locate a pattern and fabric something such as a shopping trip in Paris, I can only offer your name in lights along with my last Mona Lisa apron. In other words, you’ll be helping me from the goodness of your heart – just to be nice.

Thank you dear Readers. I’m sure you have seen things I have overlooked or not yet discovered!

A Million Thanks
