Grunge chic with plaid

There is something incredibly charming for me in plaid prints. It’s almost an ancestral relationship between something that is in a way but can appear in another. It doesn’t matter if we are talking about shirts, coats or prints on prints.

A heavy fabric, durable and functional that knows how to be very feminine. It was used to feel warm and comfy on the mountains and now it scores the runway. And who can forget the plaid skirt combined with gold sequins for the lady imagined by the Italian N°21? or the noble and sophisticated combination in between a college outfit and a good girl style presented by Blugirl and the total look by Moschino accessorized with British inspired brooch and hat.
The popular tartan can give an eccentric touch without losing elegance; the print knows how to be classic, but neither predictable nor too serious. That allows you to remove something because it says enough itself.

The contrast between light and heavy, a silk top under a heavy shirt; a precious material and a more crude; a continuous research in layering and contrasting has led the plaid to be printed on sheer chiffon to accentuate the contrasts and lead to new combination unexplored.
