Sophie’s Dish – Places I recommend to EAT at San Francisco #sf #restaurants

My favorite part about living in San Francisco is having a wide array of foods within my grasp.
I’ve been holding these places in my backlog to write about for sometime so I thought I would just let you know about them all at once

All meals were consumed by me for my own enjoyment and my own opinions.

Roli Roti Gourmet Rotisserie – Food Stand, Rotisserie $
Location: 1 Ferry Building, San Francisco
Notes: This is a food stand outside of the Ferry Building and only open Thurs/Sat (limited hours & no seating)

Oh my this was a delicious treat! One day when my co-worker suggested it for lunch and I’m so glad I made the trek. They have very limited open hours as they are food stand outside the Ferry building. I got rotisserie chicken and potatoes. The food is delicious, hot and tasty. I would recommend checking it out.

University Club of San Francisco – American, Social Club $$
Location: 800 Powell Street, San Francisco
Notes: This is a private club and requires membership also available as event venue. I went with Art Social event and thus was able to go to the club.

A couple of months, I started going to Art Social, which is a social painting class and they were hosted at the University Club. The club has a fancy academic feeling. What really surprised me was how good their food is. They only had 2-3 appetizers/small plates for the event but I was impressed with what I tasted. I can only assume their club dining room would be equally tasty. I would be eager to try it out.

Brenda’s French Soul Food – American, Southern $$
Location: 652 Polk Street, San Francisco
Notes: There is usually 30-45 min wait, they don’t do reservations

I really enjoy going to Brenda’s even though there’s usually a wait. I think it’s worth it! They have a lovely brunch menu but I have to say their shrimp po’boy is my staple lunch item. Everything I’ve had has been good and they provide tremendous portions! They also do beignets and I think they have amazing biscuits & gravy.

Limon Rotisserie – Peruvian $$
Location - 524 Valencia St, San Francisco
Notes: They do have 2 restaurants in the Mission District

This is another Rotisserie I would recommend checking out. It’s got a swanky atmosphere and is good for groups. I think it’s quite affordable if your groups gets one of the chicken rotisserie deals. I also really like their pork ribs and they do have some unique cocktails.

Tal-Y-Tara Tea & Polo Shoppe, English Afternoon Tea $-$$
Location - 6439 California St, San Francisco
Notes: It also sells equipment & clothing for Polo

I found this little gem in the outer Richmond through a Groupon I purchased. I really really like this place even if I can never remember the name! It’s the cutest shop and quaint location. It’s part shop and part afternoon tea place. They make scrumptious fresh scones, buttery cookies and this great thing called a motor loaf (pictured above). The motor loaf is made from this semi-sweet and hearty bread and then it is cut up into basket of little sandwiches. I think there was forest ham, salmon, cucumber, egg salad and maybe chicken? This is perfect treat to any day. I can’t wait to go back!
