Cool Stuff Going On Around Here

I’m so excited about some changes around here. If you haven’t stopped by in awhile, I have a brand new site design and I switched hosts to make things speedier. I tried to make it easier to navigate, and I think it’s a lot prettier now!

My new FAVORITE part of my site is I added a section for popular paint colors. Some of these are colors I see used a lot by other bloggers and designers, and others are those that get the most visits and pins. It’s a great area to check out if you don’t know where to start with colors or are just looking for some extra paint color inspiration.

I also have new and improved pages for browsing by color, by room, and by brand. I also still have the ever popular painted furniture section.

And on the technical side, my new host is SO much faster than my old one too…can I get a HOORAY!. That means my site should be running a lot faster these days.

I don’t want to bore everyone with too many details, but for any bloggers out there, I went with Siteground (good riddance, old host). I went with their GoGeek plan, which is good for me for now, but I may have to switch again at some point because I’m not too far from outgrowing it. It’s a good plan if you’re too big for the typical shared server plan but don’t want to fork over yet for a VPS or dedicated server. Switching over was easy and painless with no downtime, and their customer service is VERY responsive – 10 minutes max for email replies and I didn’t have to wait on hold when I called.

Before this I was with one of the mega huge hosts who charges next to nothing and offers “unlimited bandwidth”, which is not, in fact, unlimited at all. One too many issues, and too many hours waiting on hold, meant it was time to switch. I wish I had done this awhile ago.
