Jack O Lantern Gift Box

We always make special treats like our Witches Broom Lollipops for my daughters class each year. But what about the teacher?

My daughter just loves making things and giving them to people, so she wanted to make something special for her teacher on Halloween. So we made this cute Jack O Lantern Gift Box, and filled it with some homemade cookies (you could just fill it with candy if you wanted).

I drew and painted the face on the box but my daughter pretty much did the rest. She also helped make our sugar cookies and decorate them for Halloween. We used the same recipe as these Christmas cookies we just cut them out in Halloween shapes instead.

Teachers do so much it is nice to find a way to say thank you every now and then, so I love it when my daughter wants to make her teacher something special.

Supplies
Small Round Paper-Mâché Box
Cork
Green Pipe Cleaner
Orange Paint
Black Paint
Brown Paint
Paint brushes
Glue

Directions
Start by painting your box and lid orange, you will probably need a 2nd coat on this one.
While you are waiting for the first coat of paint to dry paint your cork brown.
Once the paint is dry draw a jack o lantern face on to your box, make sure you put the lid on before you draw it so the lid does not cover your eyes!
When you have the face looking like you want; paint in the face with your black paint.

While we are waiting for the black paint to dry you can glue your cork to the lid of your box.

Curl your pipe cleaner on your finger
Then wrap it around the base of your cork and glue it on the box lid.
Now just put a special treat in the box and give it to a Special Teacher!
