Creative Journaling & Journal Storage

The Intentional Journal.

Artistic Journals Are More Fun Than I Thought They Would Be.

Above is a journal I have had for a few years. I love that the pages inside are blank and it’s broken up into sections. Until recently, I had not decided what I was going to do with this journal. I loved it (which is why I bought it), but didn’t have the perfect use for it… then I found the world of artistic journaling. She (my journal) was the perfect canvas for my new endeavor!

My Creative Journal | The Beginning Stage

For anything creative I do, I always start with a vision board. With my journals, I prefer to keep visuals within the pages. The first thing I needed to do with my “journal that came back to life,” was create storage within the pages to keep little cut-outs, quotes and other visuals that were inspirational. I wanted it to be pretty, practical and needed to make sure it wasn’t going anywhere.

Since I didn’t have too many envelopes at home, I decided to use 2 that I did have lying around.

  • The white envelope below was bigger, so that was what I needed to use for storage.
  • The gold envelope was so pretty that I chose to use it as a decorative piece.
  • With some tape, I stuck them both together, then glued the front of the gold envelope to my journal page. I also glued the flaps of the envelopes together.
  • I added washi tape for decorative purposes and to ensure a better hold in my journal.
  • Topping it off with a few cutouts to start with, my storage space was complete!

Let me know what you think and how you store bits and pieces for your journals.
