Altuzarra for Target

The Altuzarra for Target collection launched this a.m. and for the first time in a long time I wasn’t in line at the door. The reason why had nothing to do with the collection not being up to snuff—in fact, it’s perfect. I was just lucky enough to attend the launch party during NYFW, where I got the opportunity to also shop the collection. The party itself was pretty amazing, with lights and mirrors creating a maze of what seemed like never-ending stars. But what’s the collection like? Well, it’s pretty great, actually. Out of the collection, my favorite pieces are the PJ sets, the floral maxi dress and the trench coats (all pictured below). The dresses have a ’70s Halston, Studio 54 feel and are made of a shiny material. It’s the slits and plunging necklines that give them a va-va-va voom quality. And speaking of quality, priced around $40, they seem too good to be true. The trenches are also stellar. Alas, the did not have those up for grabs at the party.

As for sizing, things run on the small side, so keep that in mind if you are ordering online. And while the shoes are not leather, if you’re doing the vegan leather thing, they are a great shape for fall.

All in all, I have to say the collection is two thumbs up. Even the velvet tux is worth a try, though in Miami it’s going to be hard to pull that one off. Instead, I opted for the maroon dress. I can see it making a round at Basel.

And the winner. This one came home with me.
