UK Drugstore Beauty Swap!
Hi, everyone! I follow many UK-based bloggers and, in the process of pouring over their posts, I've amassed quite the affinity for British beauty bits. The problem? They're terribly difficult to find here in Canada! Given my lusting after across-the-pond products, I was thrilled to receive a message from Alison at
Maliberry Makeup, offering to send me one of my biggest beauty lemmings,
Soap & Glory The Breakfast Scrub. What a sweetheart! Her generous offer evolved into a full-blown international swap proposal and before we knew it, we were both off to our local drugstores to buy some treats for each other!
Mali's package arrived incredibly quickly and I was so thrilled with the contents. A few items were specific requests, while others were lovely surprises. All of them were totally British-tastic :) Here's a shot of everything I received:
The products came packed with love in a box full of colourful tissue. There was a sweet, personalized note as well as some ridiculously tempting candy included in the package. Such nice touches!
The largest goods in the swap were two weighty tubs of wonderful from
Soap & Glory. The first was one I've been craving for ages, the morning indulgence-inspired
The Breakfast Scrub. I knew I was going to love the maple-tinged scent, but at first whiff I was beyond smitten. Perhaps the best-smelling body product I've ever encountered? Bold statement, but that's how amazing it is! On the citrus end of the spectrum was the
Orangeasm Super Rich Body Butter. I'd heard
Essie Button rave about this range, so I was eager to give it a go. This rich cream smells of fresh oranges and suits this summertime weather perfectly!
Also among my
Soap & Glory requests were a lightweight sunscreen and a sleek mattifying powder. The
Sunshield Superfluid is a sheer SPF50 formula that I've heard raved about by British beauty bloggers countless times. I'm sure my fair, oily skin will love it! We all know that I'm incredibly loyal to
MAC Blot Powder, but I doubt anyone could blame me for cheating on
Blot with
Soap & Glory's
One Heck of a Blot. The packaging is to die for and it promises sheer but effective oil control with a natural finish. I just know this will make me feel like a modern day pin-up.
Mali also included a few makeup bits from other UK-based brands that she knew were totally up my alley. I'd been dying to try the cheap and cheerful
MUA line, and she included two goodies from the brand. The first is
Blush Perfection Cream Blusher in
Lush, a bold candy pink. So fun and colourful! The second is
Lipstick in
Nectar, a vivid coral orange. It reminds me of
MAC Vegas Volt, which is one of my all-time faves. Vibrant shades like that really speak to me! The final piece is a powder blush from
Sleek, who makes some of my favourite cheek colours.
Rose Gold is a cult product from the brand, as it's a more affordable, more elegant (in my opinion!) version of
NARS Orgasm. Really can't go wrong with shimmery pinky peach goodness on the cheeks- can't wait to give it a go!
I am so pleased with each and every item that Mali sent my way. I feel so lucky to have been part of this swap- such a pleasure from start to finish! I am beyond excited to delve into all of these products and channel my inner British Beauty babe!
Thanks again so much to Mali for these amazing goodies! You can check out her adorable and informative blog,

Cheers :)
