The Blanket Scarf

This past weekend Brian and I headed to Asheville,NC to catch one last glimpse of the fall leaves changing! We were so excited to see the brightly colored leaves in one of our favorite cities. What we were not expecting was the ridiculously cold weather that we experienced. We even got to see the first snow of the season on Friday night/early Saturday morning! Luckily I'm a self-proclaimed overpacker and brought a week's worth of clothes that ended up being perfect for layering! I wore this outfit on Friday night to grab dinner and drinks downtown. Two of my favorite fall accessories this year are blanket scarves and hats. They are equally as functional as they are cute. Blanket scarves are wonderful, but they can sometimes be a little overwhelming (and huge). I've found that I like to fold mine and wear it more like a traditional scarf rather than wrapping it around my neck. This way it provides warmth and almost an extra layer (which was definitely needed this weekend). This hat was worn often this weekend not only to keep my head warm, but to also hide the wreck that was my hair. Let's face it...my hair doesn't want to do anything when it's 30 degrees, windy, and all of my clothes have static cling!
