Beaumont man sued over relative’s unpaid student loans

A Beaumont man is being sued for allegedly not paying back nearly $35,000 in his relatives student loans.

National Collegiate Student Loan Trust 2006-3 filed a lawsuit against Earl Bienemy Aug. 19 in Jefferson County District Court.

Monique Bienemy agreed to borrow money from JPMorgan Chase Bank, according to the complaint, to fund her education at Prairie View Aamp;M University for the 2006-07 school year. The loan, originated through the Student Loan Trusts, allegedly was guaranteed by Earl Bienemy.

The original loan allowed for a deferral period, after which Monique Bienemy allegedly agreed to begin repaying the money. National Collegiate says she failed to make payments, leaving the loan in default.

National Collegiate alleges the guarantor, Earl Bienemy, is responsible for the unpaid balance of more than $34,000 but has failed to make any payments.

National Collegiate seeks a judgment for the full amount owed plus interest, and attorney and court costs.
