Make: Polymer Clay Necklaces

In the months leading up to Christmas I went on a bit of a polymer clay bead making binge. I used about 12 packets of Fimo to make 8 beads per packet. After getting a bowl full of beads I sat down one night and made countless necklaces, threading 5 beads per necklace on to either twine from Spotlight or a pink thin nylon cord purchased at the Big Design Market in December. I made necklaces for all the boy's teachers, my sister-in-laws, my mum, friends and work colleagues. They were fabulous presents and went down a treat. I may have kept a few for myself...

My sister-in-law, T, wearing her new necklace. It took her a few hours to realise I'd actually made the necklace. Biggest compliment ever!! Below is my mum wearing her bright coloured necklace. I love the neon pink cord.

Last week, I sat down and used up all the remaining beads to make 12 necklaces to donate to the school fete. No sewing for the fete yet but I still call 12 bead necklaces a win!
