Easy {Healthy} Pre-Packed Lunch & Snack Ideas – Fun With Lunch Series

Have a little fun with your kids lunches this year. You don’t have to spend hours creating beautiful Bento Boxes that look like Hello Kitty to make them fun. Your kids will love the little touches and I promise, you can do this in less than 5 minutes! In todays post I’m sharing some easy (and healthy) pre-packed lunch and snack ideas for busy moms.

Note: Some of the products featured in this post have been sent to me free for review. Others I have purchased myself. I’m sharing them with you because I reach for these first before anything else in my fridge or pantry.

I’m going to let you in on a little secret, my kids have been eating school lunch all year! I have tried to get them some fun, healthy lunches like the ones you see above, but they insist on buying lunch. For my daughter, it’s a novelty for her to order lunch. This is her first year in school and she really likes feeling like a big girl.

With that secret out in the open, I still have to pack snacks for my kids and if they ever get sick of school lunches….I’m prepared!! As much as I hate pre-packed lunches (from the waste perspective), sometimes they are a huge time saver for families. I’m so thankful that there are actually more and more healthy and organic pre-packed lunches and snacks available in stores today.

I’m madly in love with Annie’s, Applegate Farms, Organic Valley, Honest Kids, and Stonyfield Yogurt for making good food for our kids. I found the best deals and great selection of these products at our local Target store.

The new Applegate Farm Half – Time Kits are A-Mazing!! My kids love crackers, cheese, and sandwich meat BUT I hate those “other” brands of snack kits you typically find. Bonus perks for the Half – Time kit because they also include a snack size Annie’s bunny cookies and Stonyfield yogurt. This was the first thing my kids grabbed when I got home from the grocery store and they were gone in minutes. Thankfully I bought enough for school too.

The Annie’s Snack Kits are a smaller kit, but perfect for afternoon snacks at school. Each kit includes cheese squares, bunny cookies, organic fruit bites and some almond butter. The box has a cute little handle and when you open it, you see Bernie the bunny! The only thing missing is a few crayons for the kids to color when they are done with their snack.

Other pre-packed snack ideas include Organic Valley sticks of cheese, Annie’s gummy fruits, Honest Kids drink pouches, and Stonyfield YoKids yogurt pouches. For those parents with just a few more minutes to pack lunches, you could buy the larger sized containers and pack them in reusable containers yourself. You’re likely to save a little bit of money if you choose the larger packages. I usually do a little bit of both depending on what’s on sale at the store. Check out Rock the Lunchbox for some money saving coupons on these great brands.
