"This is Where I Leave You"

When their father passes away, four grown siblings are forced to return to their childhood home and live under the same roof together for a week, along with their over-sharing mother and an assortment of spouses, exes and might-have-beens.

This film wins the award for bringing together all the actors that give me the warm and fuzzes - Jane Fonda (the comedy/drama veteren), Tina Fey (SNL superstar), Jason Bateman (the greatest of contemporary foul-mouth comedic actors), Rose Byrne (Bridesmaids, ‘nuff said), Adam Driver (that creepy yet lovable guy from Girls), Corey Stoll (Peter Russo from House of Cards lives!), Abigail Spencer (that awesome overprotective sister from the underrated Rectify), Timothy Olyphant (oh, Timothy, had me at Catch and Release), Kathryn Hahn (the best-est of sidekicks from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days), Dax Shepard (my fave Braverman from Parenthood)…

Even before the trailer dropped, I lined this up as my next book to read as it is based on the novel by Jonathan Tropper. I think that will serve as a little precurser for me to set up the film, with people to imagine in the roles. As someone who always wished I had a large, close-knit family, I can’t wait to see how this call comes together. I’m hoping for the best.

This is Where I Leave You will find its way to US theaters on September 12.
