Snow

Snow.

Normally this is the time of year when I want to hide in bed and not come out until winter is over. I'm not much of a winter person. I don't like being cold. I don't like driving when it's snowy and icy. I hate how high my utility bills get.

I still get those feelings.

But then there's the beauty of it. There's the quiet stillness. There's sitting in my living room with my husband and dogs, the fireplace going and candles lit, feeling all warm and cozy as the little white flakes fall outside. There's hot chocolate and decorating for Christmas and stews and soups and chili.

Winter will never be my favorite season. But maybe this year I'll allow it to seep into my veins a little bit. Maybe this year we can learn to like each other.
