Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer Review

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer – £22

The Nars radiant creamy concealer is a cult classic among beauty bloggers and the industry alike. I tried not to succumb to this as it is on the pricey side, but a couple of months ago, I was perusing the Nars counter in Selfridges and just couldn’t resist.

I like the packaging, particularly the matte black lid- oh so chic! and it comes with a handy doe foot applicator. It’s very creamy and pigmented, you don’t need very much at all and I don’t find I have any problems with it as an under eye concealer. It covers dark circles well and doesn’t crease which is excellent, but it also does a fairly good job of covering blemishes well too, as long as I don’t use too much then we start delving into thick and cakey territory!

It’s also long lasting- not so much on blemishes- mainly because my constant face touching and hand resting but on under eye circles it lasts most of the day.

The only issue I have with this otherwise wonderful concealer is the shade range. It’s rather impressive that they offer 10 shades, which is far more extensive than the one or two shades drugstore offerings tend to have. But I’m one of those awkward so-and-so’s that is in between colours (Chantilly was far too pale), so although I opted for Vanilla which -on the whole- matches fairly well. However, with some foundations it’s just far too dark and orange on my skin, likewise on my bare skin- I’m not one for going out with bare skin anyway but imagine my horror when I look in my car visor mirror and see orange splotches all around my chin. Not good!

So what do I think? I think it’s well worth the hype. Pigmented, creamy, it doesn’t crease and the tube lasts such a long time that it makes the price tag a little more bearable. However because of the shade issues I mentioned and the fact things can get a little cakey around my blemishes if I’m a bit overzealous, it’ll never be the sole concealer in my kit, but it’s one I reach for a heck of a lot!
