Back at it – time for Ultimate Booty Workouts

I finally feel like my foot is making very tiny progress and that I’ve had enough time off from exercising, so it’s time to get back at it. I do feel like I’ve been eating pretty healthy over the last 2 1/2 months since I first hurt my foot. I know I could do better, but I’m definitely enjoying life and everything in moderation.

But, it’s time to step up the workouts. I still need to be careful of my foot, not only for the bruise on the ball of my foot, but also because of the bone spur on the big toe of the same foot. I’m in such a great place

The good news is that riding my stationary bike doesn’t hurt at all. I rode two mornings last week – YAY! I did 20 minutes on Monday and 25 minutes on Wednesday with a strength workout on Tuesday. Good start.

This past weekend, I went with my husband and son to San Francisco for a super quick weekend getaway. Dancing Girl had a sleepaway dance camp with her new team and we had planned this trip before we even knew her camp schedule, so we decided to keep our plans and go without her. It was weird to travel as a family of 3, and we did make it a quick weekend, getting home a full day before she did. I was a little concerned about walking around the city playing tourist all weekend, but it was okay. Luckily, my foot has the same tolerance as an 11 year old boy. So, as he got tired, so did my foot and it was time to go back to the hotel. We rounded out our quick weekend getaway with a visit to AT&T Park to watch our Dodgers kick some butt against their rivals. That’s a beautiful park.

My foot was a little achy on Sunday, but we mostly did a lot of driving, so it had time to rest. We tried to go the Gilroy Garlic Festival on the way home, but it was so much more crowded than we expected and we were on a time crunch to make it home in time to get the pups from their boarding place, so we hit up some roadside stands in Gilroy for some yummy food. (oh, and we got a whole ton of yummy chocolate from Ghiardelli of course). This should last a while.

So… I need a new workout plan. Lucky for me, I’ve got this book sitting on my night stand just waiting for me to jump in.

When I was given this book to review, I was knee deep in Ragnar training and not in a place to cut back on mileage and focus on strength. But, I’m clearly not in that place right now. I read Ultimate Booty Workouts when I first got it and loved the workouts and now can’t wait to tackle them. My booty needs some working out I’ll be doing some modifications, probably using my bike for most of the cardio circuit parts, but I’ll give you all some updates. I really enjoyed Tamara’s Over 40 Fitness Program and really look forward to the structure of her philosophy. Seriously – Tamara knows her stuff.

Happy Monday!!! Anyone else starting a new workout routine?
