Subscription Box Review: Escape Monthly West Coast Edition

The past two months have flown by. Amongst the comings and goings, graduation events and going away parties, I’ve received two of my Escape Monthly boxes. This subscription provides a “vacation in a box” and they highlighted two parts of the west coast: California and Las Vegas. Having been to both parts of the country, I was intrigued to see what they would provide for California, particularly because it’s an incredibly large state. I was pleased to see all that was included.

The focus was more on California’s wine country and some unique products from the area. I love wine country and have been a few times. It was nice to explore some of the non-wine products too. As always, the box comes with a travel guide and a brochure explaining everything in the box.

Juice Beauty Age Defy Hand Cream, Premium Sea Sponge, and Hugo Naturals Vanilla and Sweet Orange Soap

The bonus item was authentic California poppy kit. I’m not sure my land can handle these, however, I’ll be planting them next spring to see what will happen.

Caliwater Cactus Water, Nicobella Organics Truffle (they were a bit melted), San Fanola (yum), and Ips Egg White Chips

The products were high quality and I feel like I get a lot for what I pay. The soap and hand cream are wonderful, probably my two favorite items in this box.

The next month was Las Vegas. I had to go two times during the 2013-2014 academic year and I cannot say that it’s my favorite city. However, the box was a nice reminder of some of the good aspects of Las Vegas.

I loved the presentation of this box. It had glitter squiggles included in it. Super cute. Authentic playing cards and the travel guide were also a nice addition.

The bonus item in this box was the nail file. I’ll definitely use it, however, it seemed a bit odd as a bonus gift. The toffee was okay (I’m not a huge fan of toffee) and I enjoyed the shot glass. It provided some nice reminders of all that Vegas has to offer.

The calming mist is next to my computer to help me stay focused and I have yet to try the Charcoal Salt Body Scrub. I got poison ivy while I was gardening and need to make sure it’s all gone before trying this scrub out.

Not only did I get a cute wine stopper, which will definitely get some use, I received a deck of cards used at one of the hotels where I stayed and actually played at one of the tables. That’s pretty cool and yet a little strange to think of all the people who touched those cards. I’m trying not to think about it too much.

Escape Monthly has a new deal now where you can purchase a “mini” subscription box. So for July, I’ll be getting the mini box to try out. The destination is India and I’m looking forward to seeing what they provide. I have never been and it’s a place I find intriguing and exciting. What do you think? Have you tried Escape Monthly yet?
