MMM: Welcome to #MatalanHome

Last weekend we were invited to be guinea pigs for a project Matalan have just started.

Called Matalan Home, the brand have hired a beautiful cottage in the Cotswolds where they have set up shop – so to speak – for the next six months.

The entire place is decked out in their home collection, from towels to mugs, bedding to cushions – everything is Matalan.

Even the front door is the exact red Pantone of the brand’s logo.

The front entrance to the cottage. Nice, huh?

It’s a project they are doing to really show journalists that they are a store for – and about – families. The house represents that – and they are inviting media down to experience not just the breadth of products, but also to give their families an opportunity to enjoy some downtime together.

Once the kids had got over the excitement of having their very own playroom – including dressing up costumes in exactly the right sizes, impressive – we really did chill out.

Lila hasn’t even checked out the rest of the house yet…

It was lovely watching the children racing around the garden and exploring the local area – all in the sunshine.

I’m a big fan of Matalan textiles anyway, but I was really surprised by how stylish the whole thing looked. The bed-linen was gorgeous, in fact I have ordered the set that was in the master bedroom (doesn’t need loads of ironing either, result).

The master bedroom cushions were VERY satisfying

We were really delighted to have been asked to take part in this project and had a lovely, lovely weekend.

I also highly recommend checking out some of my favourite pieces from the #MatalanHome, which I’ve included below. Honestly, if you’ve never been for a little mooch around Matalan, now is the time to – the range looks great.

Hand knitted cushion, £18

diagonal cruell cushion, £12

Slogan print apron, £5

Sweet shop style glass jar, £5 each (so useful)

Printed charger plate, £3 each
