MMM {mini} The top secret destination for wooden toys

We celebrated Christmas last weekend with my parents as this year we’re not spending it up north with them but heading south, to my in-laws. So the kids were lucky enough to receive Grandma and Grandpa’s presents a whole two weeks early – you can appreciate the excitement levels.

Anyway, amongst all the fab presents, the star of the show had to be this gorgeous doll’s house for Lila.

Made of wood and beautifully finished, I was totally blown away by it – even more so when mum told me it had cost £30 from George at ASDA.

YES. REALLY.

Now, who knew ASDA sold such lovely things? Clearly not me, but lots of people do because this house has now completely sold out. There are people desperately trying to track them down on eBay and I have seen pleas on Facebook forum groups too.

All credit to mum here, because she’d spotted it online back in September and had to put her name on a waiting list even then for the two she wanted for Lila and my niece Grace.

A little online search and ASDA Direct have a whole section of wooden toys – which easily rivals (the totally gorgeous) more expensive versions from the likes of GLTC and Le Toy Van at Alex and Alexa.

Here are a few of my favourite spots from ASDA – plus check out how much cheaper they are than similar styles from other brands.

There’s still time to add to those stockings!

Other versions of dolls houses similar to Lila’s £30 model, currently available at GLTC and Alex & Alexa

Wooden Farms from ASDA, Le Toy Van and GLTC

And finally pirate ships
