Bali, Marzo 2014.
Me gusta ver cosas. Me voy de vacaciones a la playa pero después de dos días en la piscina sin hacer nada me quiero mover, sobre todo estando en la otra punta del planeta. Al tercer día alquilamos una motocicleta y fuimos a Deus Ex Machina. En el medio de la nada, rodeado de alguna que otra caseta con un bar, un par de casas y campos de arroz se encuentra “The Temple of Enthusiasm” (El Templo del Entusiasmo).
Deus Ex Machina es una marca australiana de motos con una base en Bali. También hacen y arreglan tablas de surf, venden ropa, tienen una galería de arte y un restaurante en el que me tomé el mejor Long Island Iced Tea y “the soup of freshness” (la sopa refrescante), un gazpacho de sandía.
En la mesa soñamos pensando en mudarnos allí, montar un campamento de surf para niños y trabajar con la chica francesa de la mesa de al lado que entrevistaba a alguien para un nuevo puesto de trabajo.

I like to visit places. When I go on beach holidays I get stressed because I wanna do something else besides lying on the beach all the time, especially if i’m on the other side of the planet for the first time. On our third day in Bali we rented a bike and went to Deus Ex Machina. In the middle of nowhere surrounded by rice fields is “The Temple of Enthusiasm”.
Deus Ex Machina is an Australian motorcycle brand and one of their shops is located in Canggu, Bali. They also shape surf boards, build bikes and sell their own clothes. On top of this they have an art gallery and an amazing restaurant where I drank the best Long Island Iced Tea and ate “the soup of freshness” watermelon soup.
Whilst eating lunch at the table, we dreamt about moving there, organising a surf summer camp for kids and working with the French girl that was conducting job interviews at the same time.
