Getting Engaged? Meet Trumpet and Horn

Back when Rob and I were first dating, and it became pretty clear to both of us that we were probably going to get married and all that jazz, I really didn’t want him to buy me an engagement ring. I’m an obsessive jewelry collector—you can see my favorite jewelry sites here—and so you’d think that an engagement ring would have been my end all and be all. BUT, I really didn’t want him to spend unnecessary money—and I didn’t want anything new. Little did I know that he had inherited a ring from his great, great grandmother—who just happened to have exquisite taste in jewelry—and that my eventual engagement ring would come to be my favorite possession. It’s composed of three diamonds in a super-intricate crown setting, which makes the whole thing: Diamonds are great and all, but the setting is where it’s at. Check out all of these beauties at Trumpet & Horn, a vintage and estate jewelry site that I first found care of my friend Sarah Hendler on Instagram—you can get a lot of bang for your buck when you focus on the whole ring rather than just the three C’s. Ya know?
