Shooting RAW Images

There have been two photography classes at my church and we were shooting in manual mode not in automatic. Manual mode can be tricky because you are basically trying to capture light. The next thing to conquer was shooting raw images. My camera has a raw jpg fine setting and it saves both file extensions on my camera. When those images are pulled up in the software you can edit the raw file and see the difference.

During the Blog Elevated conference here in Houston we went on a photo walk with Rachel Matthews. She was teaching us about all the different angles that we could use to take images. One of them was getting on the floor with your subject. You can see that I’m doing that here with our family dog, Leo.

The top image is the original jpg and the lower image has been edited and converted to a jpg. What do you think?
