First there were the radical-chic. Then came hipsters, followed by bobos, and sometimes even by nerds.
From time immemorial, to be à-la-mode, you need to follow trends, work hard and adapt your look so to finally reach the hard-earned label of the moment. It’s just as it was at school, where to be noticed, you had to own THAT shoes, THAT backpack and THAT pair of jeans.
At least, till now. Coming directly from the States, there is a new, disarming trend, that technically it’s not a trend since it goes against trends themselves. It’s called Normcore and it surely will be the most used hashtag of the season, shaking all the rules.
Contraction of Normal and Hardcore, the trend forecasting group based in New York K-Hole invented it, with the purpose to reveal who makes normality his business card, embracing sameness deliberately as a new way of being cool, rather than striving for “difference” or “authenticity.”
Versione italiana
In origine c’erano i radical chic.
