Dark glasses resting on his nose and that hair helmet always perfectly combed and regular enough to seem fake. There is no doubt, we are talkin’ about her, Miss Anna Wintour.
Editor-in-chief of American Vogue, feared and powerful woman, undisputed idol of all the fashion addict on the planet. But what do we really know about her? How much truth is behind the character that we like so much to see? This maybe we’ll never know.
What we do know is that her arrival at every fashion show does not go unnoticed: the paparazzi run crazy towards her trying to take the perfect picture, the wiser shooting her safely with the camera of the mobile phones and we can glimpse her surrounded by the bodyguards high more or less like a cupboard with two doors that protect her from the indiscrete and continuous attack by the convinced animal rights activists.
Her only crime? Love immensely fur.
And while in the summer presentations of the collections there is no danger, in winter in fact the risk is there.
I had the honor to meet her at the Giorgio Armani fashion show when she stepped on my foot gently with her elegant sandals, running toward the Mercedes with tinted windows waiting for her exit. Had at least the foresight to apologize!
But what to expect, she is the editor of Vogue and I’m just the author MyTessabit…

Occhiali scuri poggiati sul naso e quel caschetto sempre perfettamente pettinato e regolare tanto da sembrar finto. Non c’è nessun dubbio, parliamo di lei, miss Anna Wintour.
Editor in chief di Vogue America, donna temutissima e potente, idolo incontrastato di tutti i fashion addict dell’intero pianeta terra. Ma cosa sappiamo realmente di lei? Quanta verità c’è dietro il personaggio che ci piace tanto vedere? Questo forse non lo sapremo mai.
Quello che sappiamo è che il suo arrivo ad ogni sfilata non passa di certo inosservato: i paparazzi corrono impazziti verso di lei cercando di scattare la foto perfetta, i più saggi la riprendono con la fotocamera del proprio cellulare a debita distanza e la si può intravedere circondata dai bodyguard alti più o meno come un armadio a due ante che la proteggono dal continuo attacco indiscreto degli animalisti più convinti.
La sua unica colpa? Amare immensamente le pellicce.
E mentre nelle presentazioni estive delle collezioni non corre alcun rischio, in inverno in effetti il rischio c’è.
Ho avuto l’onore di incontrarla alla sfilata di Giorgio Armani quando mi ha delicatamente pestato il piede con i suoi elegantissimi sandaletti correndo verso la Mercedes dai vetri oscurati che la aspettava all’uscita. Avesse almeno avuto l’accortezza di chiedere scusa!
Ma cosa pretendere, lei è la direttrice di Vogue ed io semplicemente l’author di MyTessabit…
State per caso insinuando qualcosa?
Su di lei sono stati scritti libri, girati film e prodotti documentari e cortometraggi.
Per non parlare poi dei chilometri di parole scritte sul suo conto su magazine, giornali e blog del settore.
A noi piace immaginarla esattamente come la fantastica Miranda Priestley interpretata dalla stupenda Meryl Streep ne “Il diavolo veste Prada”. Spietata e determinata ma estremamente elegante, con quel pizzico di ironia che non guasta mai.
Diciamoci pure la verità, non sono proprio i suoi outfit ad attirare l’attenzione, né tantomeno il suo sorriso smagliante. Anche perché le foto nelle quali lei sorride son veramente rare ed il fotografo che ha avuto l’onore di scattarle ha anche avvertito un forte brivido di terrore.
I suoi look sono caratterizzati da scarpe prevalentemente aperte e dal tacco basso ideali per correre da una sfilata all’altra, abiti e gonne lunghe al ginocchio e l’immancabile occhiale da sole.
