How to Transition from Work to a Fashion Event

On my second day of Vancouver Fashion Week, I actually had to go straight from a shift of work I had picked up. I find it next to impossible to dress for both a corporate environment and a fashion event, but when it must be done, it must be done. I decided on these cropped and flared pants that I love so much and a simple striped button-up. The tote was an absolute necessity for packing a change of shoes and my camera.

And don't forget that I'm actually giving away one of these gorgeous bags! The contest ends at midnight Pacific time on Sunday, so make sure to enter asap. Find all the details here.
When trying to dress for both work and fashion, I try to have some detail that is a little different to your ordinary slacks and blouse. The ultra high waist and cropped wide legs are a just quirky enough, but not too over the top for a conservative work environment.
For such a simple look, I decided to wear my favorite classic jewelry from KVBijou and my Daniel Wellington Watch. Also, you can still get 15% off your Daniel Wellington order until September 30th with the code "stylingmylife".
I can't even tell you how much stuff I packed into this bag for the day. I even went shopping (oops!) and that was shoved in there on top of the change of shoes, camera, notebook, wallet and makeup. It was such a life-saver!
