Bye Bye Razor Rash

Heeeey,

How is your Sunday going? I have to decide what to pack for a work trip to Germany tomorrow, so this is just a quickie post which I have been meaning to share with you for a couple of weeks now.

I don’t often shave as I don’t really need to and I have laser hair removal on my underarms and bikini, but now that the Summer is here, I find that my leg hair is growing so needs regular shaving, problem is, no matter how much of a good razor I use, I ALWAYS get that horrible. sore razor rash after shaving my legs, I have even shaved in the direction of hair growth, but the same sore red bumps appear immediately afterwards.

The one product that prevented this from happening was the Kate Somerville Body Exfoliator which I picked up in LA last year, well that’s long gone now and we don’t have Kate Somerville in the UK anymore!!!

Anyway, until I can stock up on Kate Somerville when I go to Chicago and LA this Summer, I have accidentally discovered a solution to this problem by using two products available in the UK.

I stocked up on some La Roche-Posay products in Boots a while ago when they were on 3 for 2, I picked up the Cicaplast B5 cream/balm, just to try it. I had read somewhere it was good for lips (I didn’t like the feel of this on my lips, too creamy), so anyway, it had been sitting in my bathroom for a while until the day of the heatwave that swept Britain, I decided to shave my legs, jumped out the shower with razor burned thighs and fumbled for anything to help with the unsightly red bumps, well, the Cicaplast was my saviour, it soothed the burn within minutes, both the feeling and the physical bumps.

I’ve also recently discovered a superb body scrub by KORRES, Mint Tea. Nothing can compare to the Kate Somerville one in my opinion, however, this KORRES scrub does a brilliant job on sloughing away dead skin and it smells so summery and fresh, another bonus is it doesn’t make a mess in your shower or clog it up.

So, these two products are currently my power couple to help my battle with razor burn, since I have been using both products together, my thighs have been so smooth with no bumps or ingrowing hairs. I am so pleased!

Do you suffer from razor burn? If so, what do you use?

I’ll be away next week in Germany at Kneipp HQ as well as spending my spare time looking for German beauty products.

Have a great day!
