My Skin Care Star Products

I have been taking care of my skin for as long as I can remember, it’s a routine instilled in me since childhood. I would love getting involved with my mum’s skin care routine, the smell of Anne French cleanser and cucumber toner instantly transports me back to my childhood.

There are so many brilliant skin care brands on the market, depending on your needs and budget. There are a few skin care brands I am truly loyal to, even when I try the latest products on the market, I find myself returning to these brands. I always advise friends to invest in a good skin care regime AND most importantly, to stick to it. So, carry on reading if you want to learn more about some of my star products.

As the weather has got colder, I have enjoyed using the Aurelia Miracle Cleanser even more!! It’s so creamy and moisturising and my skin feels moisturised, which is unusual for a cleanser. You can read my full review here.

My mother used to use Biologique Recherche’s P50 exfoliating toner a long time ago, I only started using it in 2011, maybe 2010. I used to pick it up in Paris because it wasn’t available in the UK back then. There are some salons (Medispa) and independent pharmacies in London who stock the P50 Balancing Exfoliator but it is much more expensive, so I still pick mine up in Paris or get a good friend who lives in Paris to send me some.

I never used to tone because I didn’t like that tight feeling, my mother always told me that the P50 toner was different, it took me years to actually try it and I’m glad I did, as they say ‘better late, than never’. I use this day and night, it speeds up the skin’s natural exfoliating process, it also helps skin absorb all the benefits of your serum and moisturiser because you’re sloughing away dead skin cells.

I ALWAYS use a day moisturiser with an SPF, this little beauty contains SPF 30! Which I recently needed after a very light skin peel treatment I had at one of my favourite clinics, Outline based in Dorridge (HIGHLY recommend Mary for her lip enhancements, her work is AMAZING! Also recommend these guys for laser hair removal.) The Outline Clinic have also launched their own skin care range which I am going to start testing out soon.

Erno Laszlo’s Firmarine Day Cream contains over 70 essential vitamins and anti-oxidants, which I NEED! As you get older, everything slows down, skin’s rate of renewal, collagen levels decrease…so this is an investment for women who want to maintain healthy skin for longer. I love how it absorbs into my skin instantly and it has a matte finish. It’s pricey but cheaper than botox! After all, ‘Prevention is better than cure.’ £225 from Harrods.

Now for the eyes, the eyes are usually the first feature to show signs of ageing due to the very thin and delicate skin. My most loved eye product is also by Erno Laszlo, Phormula 3-9 Eye Repair, a rich gel-cream which has anti-inflammatory ingredients (inflammation is a trigger for ageing). Available from Net-a-Porter for £185. Worth every penny because from what I have seen, Botox can’t help with crows feet. However, at the moment I am using Erno Laszlo’s Firmarine Eye Therapy, which is very light and refreshing. Don’t expect instant results, you only appreciate the incredible results of these eye products when people can’t believe your age. Seriously worth every hard earned penny! If you can only splash out on one Erno Laszlo product, invest in Phormula 3-9 Eye Repair. I also advise girls in their mid-20’s to start taking care of their eye area from now, so I recommend the lighter Firmarine Eye Therapy. Available from Harrods for £125.

I’ve recently discovered KORRES Wild Rose Overnight Sleeping Mask, for how skin feels and looks in the morning, this is one hell of a bargain!!! It contains key ingredients such as Wild Rose Oil and Hyaluronic Acid to help even out skin tone and brighten your complexion. At the moment, I alternate between this product and Erno Laszlo’s Firmarine Overnight Gel. Korres Wild Rose Overnight Sleeping Mask is available from ASOS for £26. I think this would be good for skin with dark spots.

You only get one skin, so I advise you take care of it and don’t take it for granted during your youth.

Thanks for stopping by.
