Trend Report: The Quirky Clutch

I have long appreciated the style and wit of a good novelty clutch, and over the years I have amassed a rather quirky collection myself. I always say that fashion is best approached with a sense of humour, and these little wonders are the perfect way to incorporate that into your look. Plus, they’re a pretty neat conversation starter, and many’s the chat I’ve had in a bathroom over one of my beloved pieces. Yes, sometimes occasion calls for more formal dressing but, when appropriate, I love adding a touch of whimsy into my outfit with an unexpected bag.

I used to find international websites such as Romwe, Sheinside and FrontRowShop to be the only places to get my quirky fix, however it looks like the highstreet is finally following suit, with brands such as NewLook launching a great range of food-themed clutches for next season. I particularly love this hamburger one, yummy!

In terms of spending, I suggest not to blow the budget on your novelty clutch, as realistically, you wont be getting that much mileage out of such a statement piece. Thankfully, I have found lots of gorgeous styles that will suit even the most frugal of fashionistas, just have a look in the widget below where you can browse and shop the styles easily. I purchased this cute milk carton purse from Romwe a few months bag which I am constantly fawning over, and just a few days ago I nabbed this little angry face crossbody bag, which also comes in a cute salmon shade. If you’ve got the funds however, and you want to spend a little extra (and more power to you, sister!) then you really cant go wrong with a bit of Lulu Guinness, her lip clutches are the ultimate statement piece. Or if you’re feeling extra flash, these adorable Olympia le Tan book clutches are The Dream! Have a look for yourself below, do you have a favourite?

So, do you have any quirky clutches in your wardrobe? If not, has this little Trend Report convinced you to take the plunge?

I hope you’re all having a relaxing Sunday, I’ve sept mine watching old movies and snacking on some treats, it was pretty prefect

Happy Shopping,

Ciara x
