chocolat d'amour

Something sweet for friends and family.. Around The Table

With the exception of egg and butter, my chocolate chip cookie making ingredients are kept in a basket.
I started this when my daughter was beginning to bake. It made it easier for her to gather things up to bake cookies.
With the understanding that DARK chocolate does have a few health benefits, I decided to try this.
I replaced Chocolate Chips with Dark Chocolate chunks and added a secret ingredient...
Fleur de sel ("flower of salt" in French; French pronunciation: (flœr də sɛl))
Try this on popcorn too! .. and it's SO pretty

Fresh from the farm. beautiful variation in color and texture

Level out your baking ingredients.. it's about the chemistry and unlike stove top meals.. it has to be exact.

Combine your ingredients. Add chocolate chips (1 cup) or chop up two 6 ounce chocolate bars.

Sprinkle with fluer de sel.

..and IN to my belly.

Recipe from Around The Table
Preheat oven to 365 degrees

1 cup plus 2 TB of all purpose flour 1/2 tsp plus an extra pinch or two of Fleur de sel
{half the salt can go IN the mixture and then just add a pinch on each cookie dough ball;} 1/2 tsp of baking soda 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/3 cup sugar 1 tsp Vanilla 1 cup chocolate chips or 2 ~ 6 oz bars of dark chocolate 1 egg (room temperature) 1/2 cup butter (1 cube)
Combine flour, salt, and baking soda in a medium size bowl.
In a larger bowl, blend white and brown sugar, butter, and vanilla until creamy with hand or kitchen aid stand mixer.
Add the egg and mix until blended.
Add dry ingredients slowly and when mixed, add chopped chocolate or chocolate chips.
Spoon cookie balls on to cookie sheet.

I use parchment paper for even cooking and easy clean up.
Bake at about 365 -370 degrees for 8 to 12 minutes.
Time and temperature varies depending on where your trays are placed in the oven, how warm your oven is, and the size of your cookies. If you enjoy a soft gooey cookie, remove them when they are almost done and allow to finish baking when removed from the oven and after they've SET.
Don't forget a tall glass of cold milk!
