Hello there! I don't know about you, but I'm one of those people who is very cautious about wearing hats. I always feel they are quite a statement and I have to wake up feeling very brave before I wear one out for the day. This is why I am so happy with this DIY. I really love all the turban hats on the high street at the moment but didn't want to waste my money on something I would never wear. So, I decided to make one for myself and it cost me zero pence. I used an old hat and a button that was lying at the bottom of my sewing basket. I think it looks really good, and hopefully I will get a lot of wear out of my newly up cycled hat!
You Will Need: A beanie hat, needle, thread, button or bead.Step 1: Gather the front of the hat in a concertina motion. It needs to have about 4 folds in it. Stitch in place using matching thread and a needle and tie off at the back.
Step 2: Pull the excess material at the top of the hat down to the back so that it fit to your head. Stitch in place and tie off again.
